DJ Seinfeld lands at The Mill

As the festive season approaches AVA once again joins forces with The Mill.

We’re taking to the cavernous halls of Banana Block to kickstart your December and our run of holiday shows with a contemporary legend. Please put your hands together and give a big Belfast welcome to DJ Seinfeld. Seinfeld joined us most recently at AVA Belfast 2024, for our tenth birthday celebrations.

He took on a packed Pumphouse for his festival debut, bringing his signature emotive sound which frequently explores jungle, breaks and 2-step rhythms. Previous to this Seinfeld joined us for AVA London 2023, for the final season at Printworks with a play in the iconic Press Halls. It still sticks out in all our minds; that moment when he dropped Daniel Bedingfield’s 2001 banger ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ giving us just that little energy boost we needed in the early hours of that crisp Sunday morning.

DJ Seinfeld, real name Armand Jakobsson, also goes by Rimbaudian and Birds of Sweden. Jakobsson first started making music while studying in Edinburgh. When he returned home to Malmö, his interest in music intensified thanks to the encouragement of his old schoolmates. But the DJ Seinfeld moniker would come to be following a bad breakup and a move to Barcelona, where he partook in frequent binges of the classic American sitcom. Jakobsson took his stage name from that TV show, which was only ever intended as a temporary side project adopting it fully in 2016 when he released his first recording.
He would upload ‘U’ to SoundCloud one night, the melancholic yet danceable track which samples Bob Geldof’s recounting his divorce. Jakobsson woke to find the track had amassed plays into the thousands. The rest is history.
Support on the night comes from local legends Inside Moves & Caoimhe, guaranteeing this will be high energy from doors.
