Volunteers are the heart of our festival and for our 2024 edition, we’re searching for a talented team to help us create an unforgettable event in the heart of Belfast.

About AVA Belfast:

Returning for its 10th year in 2024, AVA’s main Festival in Belfast has grown year on year, along with a programme of international showcases, including Mumbai, Amsterdam, London, Manchester and other major cities. This year AVA Festival returns across 2 days on the 31 May and 01 June at the Titanic Slipways, Belfast. The Festival will showcase the best homegrown talent that electronic music and visual art has to offer, inviting pioneers of the scene to play alongside new breakthrough talent to the legendary AVA crowd.

Join the AVA Belfast 2024 crew as a trader 

Applications to trade at AVA Festival 2024 are now open! We’re looking for unique and creative traders, charities, and service providers to join us for a weekend of music and fun. Unlike other festivals, we don’t allocate pitches on a first-come, first-served basis. We evaluate each application based on its merit, so please provide as much information as possible, including photos or sketches of your stall and products.

At AVA, we value high-quality, creative, and visually appealing stalls that align with our festival’s ethos. We want to ensure that our festival marketplace is full of good quality food and products at fair prices. When completing your application, please ensure your stall and pitch sizes are accurate, as we use this information to plan our market areas.

On-site at AVA Festival in Belfast on Friday 31 May + Saturday 01 June 2024.

– Accommodating and assisting artists + touring parties
– Liaising with artist/tour manager, and providing hospitality riders when required.
– Ensuring artists get to and from their stage as per the schedule
– Troubleshooting problems as they arise during live event
– Communicating and updating the Artist Liaison Manager regarding their allocated artist’s whereabouts before, during and after their performance, when required.
– Act as an ambassador for AVA Festival
– Other ad hoc tasks as required

Bars are an essential part of the Festival experience, they are the social areas where audiences and performers gather, adding to the energetic buzz of the site. As a bar team member, you will be on the frontline, serving drinks and making our customers day. This role is vital. We expect hard graft and an ability to work in a team with new people, creating a great working environment conducive to an amazing experience. This role requires you to be flexible and mature. Your focus will be on making drinks, dealing with stock, keeping the bar and venue clean, working with other departments and being friendly to customers.

We require all our staff to be over 18 (due to Licensing restrictions), have a UK bank account, speak fluent English and have the necessary visa requirements to work in the UK.

Key responsibilities include:
• Cash handling and use of contactless payment machines.
• Serving drinks
• General cleaning of the bar during opening hours and after closing.
• Setting up the bars
• Clearing and swapping out bins
• To comply with and ensure others comply with Health and Safety and other policies.
• Attending team meetings, training sessions as appropriate.
• To deal with customer complaints quickly, confidently, effectively and appropriately and
escalating to management where necessary.

Person Specification
• Customer service in a bar or restaurant.
• Personal License is of benefit
• Cash Handling experience
• Electronic Point of Sales system experience
• Experience in table service and ordering systems.
• Knowledge of alcoholic drinks and their perfect serves.
• Working with the public.
• Staying focused in a busy, fast and high-pressure environment.
• Positive, approachable and friendly
