{PAIRED} arrives at Serpentine to launch a new summer series
{PAIRED}, the acclaimed Chef x DJ experience by Carousel and AVA, is thrilled to announce its latest and most ambitious series to date, debuting at London’s iconic Magazine space at the Serpentine Gallery with a trio of sizzling hot summer editions across July and August.
Inspired by the rich and fertile creative terrain where food, music and experience overlap, the idea for {PAIRED} is simple: bring together talented people from complementary disciplines and watch as the magic unfolds, with co-created menus and soundtracks weaving together shared influences.
Set against the backdrop of Zaha Hadid’s striking space, the Serpentine Summer Series will bring together pioneering culinary talent with some of electronic music’s most influential artists for three multi-course, multisensory evenings that blur the boundaries between kitchen and club.
Setting the tone for the summer, the Serpentine Series will kick off on 18th July with acclaimed Lisbon-based chef Leo Carreira (Luso, Londrino; The Sea, The Sea), who is joined by close friend and legendary pioneer of electronic music, Richie Hawtin. Famed for his decades of innovation at the forefront of techno and electronic performance, Hawtin will provide the soundtrack for the evening with a carefully curated selection designed to complement Carreira’s innovative, Modern Portuguese cuisine with a produce-led menu featuring avant-garde, Mugaritz-inspired creations.
Each edition of {PAIRED} begins with a bespoke multi-course dinner before the tables are cleared and the restaurant gives way to the dancefloor, as the evening’s featured DJ takes over with an extended set running deep into the night. A feast for the senses, the music informs the menu and the menu informs the music to create an entirely unique experience for the audience.
Sponsored by Monkey Shoulder, Estrella Damm and featuring guest sakés curated by Richie Hawtin’s Our Sake Club, {PAIRED} is the latest instalment in a long line of successful, creative collaborations between brothers Ed and Ollie Templeton, and Sarah McBriar, founder of AVA, “one of the world’s most exciting electronic festivals” (Mixmag).
Doors open at 4.30pm, with the dinner running from 5pm – 7pm. Tickets are priced at £195, inclusive of the {PAIRED} set menu, with an additional drinks pairing available. Tickets for the after party only are priced at £45, and allow access to the bar and the DJ set from 7.30pm.
Expect an immersive journey of food, sound and flavour — paired with a selection of premium Japanese sakes personally curated by Richie’s Our Sake Club. One night. Two masters of their craft.
Tickets go on sale to our mailing list: Wednesday 24th, 10am. Sign up to be the first in the queue.
Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy a private viewing of the David Hockney exhibition at Serpentine North between dinner and the after-party.
