Talks & Workshops
AVA Belfast 2026 Talks & Workshops
On Thursday 28 May, we take over The MAC in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter for a full day of talks, workshops and creative sessions.
This year’s programme brings together artists, creatives and industry voices to share ideas, experiences and practical insight across panels, conversations and workshops shaped by the culture around electronic music.
Whether you’re making music, working across the industry, building something independently or simply curious to hear from the people shaping contemporary culture, this is open to you.
Free to attend and open to all ages. Sign up below.
Supported by our partners: PRS Foundation, PPL, and Musicians’ Union.

The session could explore how you build emotional tension, atmosphere and narrative immersion across your live sets and game environments, while also giving audiences insight into the technical and creative process behind the project. There’s a nice crossover here between music, gaming, performance design and visual storytelling that feels very aligned with where AVA is heading.

Few artists have shaped the sound and emotional depth of contemporary electronic music as profoundly as Calibre. Across a groundbreaking catalogue spanning drum & bass, house, dub, soul and beyond, Belfast-born producer Dominick Martin has built a singular body of work, defined by meticulous production and unmistakable feeling.
Joining AVA for a rare and intimate closing conversation, Martin sits down with writer & DJ Andrew Moore to reflect on a career that has quietly influenced generations of artists and listeners across the globe, exploring creativity, longevity, process and the evolving relationship between underground music and culture.
